description
The School of Biblical Studies (SBS) is a bible-based, spirit-enabled course that aims to equip individuals with a sound and accurate understanding of the word of God.  It is taught in 9 months and will cover the entire bible.  The bible, being God’s gift to us, is intended primarily to deepen our relationship with him.  To this end there is an urgent need to understand the word, its authors, history, and to hear what God is saying to us.

Since God’s heart is for all individuals to have a personal relationship with him, it is imperative that all of us understand the bible, the greatest book and intimate manual of all times on how to relate to a holy God.  We recognize that knowing the bible, understanding and applying its principles is not just for pastors and preachers but also for every professing Christian.  The SBS seeks to teach students to read scripture in context and so gain a clearer understanding that the bible is God’s living word and as Christians are called to live according to its principles.  The SBS helps students to know how to respond to some of the questions in the right way in accordance with the word of God.  This course is designed to meet such desires by teaching you how to get the best out of the bible. Understanding God's inspired word, the bible, is both essential and foundational in any pursuit to know God and effectively serve Him.

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the truth.”
~2 Timothy 2:15

course content
Topics covered during the School of Biblical Studies are:
- Inductive study of the bible from Genesis to Revelation
- Scripture interpretation from different viewpoints
- Interpretation and application of biblical principles to both individuals and the church of today
- Recognition of the Holy Spirit as principle teacher of scripture

lecture phase
During the lecture phase, students will read through the entire bible and learn to look at each book in an inductive study. This time will be spent in a live-learn cross-cultural environment with their classmates. In addition to lectures, students will be involved in work duties, small groups, worship and intercession, and many creative methods in learning the material covered.

outreach phase
The SBS outreach can only be done after taking the 9 month SBS.  The main activity during the 12 weeks of outreach is for the student to teach and practice what they have learned during the SBS in a real church environment. Further book study is also done in the areas of Communication, Principles in Bible Study, Preaching and Teaching. The local pastor they are working with evaluates the student during this time.
