Getting here
Entebbe (EBB) is the nearest airport to the base (130 km). The airport is 4 hours by road from the base. Entebbe has direct links with London-Heathrow, Brussels and Amsterdam. Entebbe has regular flights with Dubai and major airports in East, North & South Africa.

When arriving at Entebbe, someone from the base will meet you at the airport. If your flight is arriving late at night, we will arrange for you to stay in a hotel in Entebbe or Kampala and come to Jinja in the morning.

The visa for Uganda is US$50 (valid for 3 months) and is available at the airport. Don't forget your Yellow Fever card. www.immigration.go.ug www.mofa.go.ug
Money can be withdrawn from many ATMs throughout Uganda using Visa debit or credit cards from major banks. If you are bringing US$ cash please make sure that the bills were issued after 2000 and that they are in large denominations. Otherwise the rate of exchange will be low.

Ministry
You will be welcome to work with any of the Hope Land ministries listed on this site and we can also arrange ministry with our sister base ToRCH (www.ywamuganda.org) which has ministries located just outside of Jinja.

There are also many opportunities to minister with the many local churches which Hope Land staff attend.

We have sporting facilities for soccer/football, basketball and volleyball.
