Discipleship Training School begins 2 month outreach in Uganda
On Monday, May 12, the February 2008 Discipleship Training School (DTS) left the base for their two month outreach portion of the program. Students were divided into three different teams, and will be working in the communities of Fort Portal, Mityana, Mbarara, Kibaale, Mutukula, and Mukono. They will be using their training gained during the lecture portion of the program to partner with local churches in discipling these communities. They will be leading and participlating in open-air crusades, door-to-door evangelism, discipleship seminars, children and youth ministry, womens ministry, and other programs. Please keep them in your prayers during this exciting time!

Addictive Behavior Counseling School Leaves for Outreach
Our first African Addictive Behavior Counseling School (ABC) has just finished their lecture phase at Hopeland. They will be continuing their studies during a practical outreach for the next three months. Currently they are working in Mbiko, a town in Uganda known for its drunkeness, drug use, and prostitution. The students will be learning how to counsel and aid those struggling to recover from these addictions, as well as spreading the love of Christ into a place that so desperately needs the healing love of God.

Dr. Tim Latham: The New Base Leader
On March 12, 2008 Dr. Tim Latham officially became the new Base Leader of YWAM Hopeland! To celebrate, YWAM held a large banquet, including music, dancing, and of course, a wonderful feast! We are all so excited about the great things Dr. Latham will do for our base, and we wish him all the best!
